BIODATA:
With more than 25 years of service with the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore, Zahra Aljunied has a wealth of experience in the operations and development of libraries.  She had worked in various divisions in the network of libraries under NLB, with scopes of work covering the following areas: technical services (from selection, acquisition to cataloguing/metadata of materials of all format including digital resources), management/operation of public libraries (both standalone and libraries inside shopping malls), management of the metadata for NLB’s corporate record repository systems, and reading initiative programming.

From April 2012 to October 2015, Zahra was seconded to the Cybrarian Ventures Pte Ltd (CVPL), a wholly-owned private company of National Library Board (NLB) Singapore, as a Library Consultant. In the last year of the secondment she was a Resident Consultant to the Tanah Sutera Devt. Sdn. Bhd. for their project, My Library at Sutera Mall.

Currently, Zahra is a Senior Librarian with the Contents and Services Division of the Public Libraries Singapore, where she oversee collection development, reading initiative projects (including forming of book clubs), library programming (including those planned at the national level) as well as staff development in areas pertaining to the management and promotion of all services provided by NLB in the Malay language.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR DR ABRIZAH ABDULLAH

BIODATA:
Dr Abrizah Abdullah is an Associate Professor at the Department of Library & Information Science University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Currently she is attached to the Institute of Postgraduate Studies, University of Malaya as a Deputy Dean. She was a teacher librarian, and started her teaching career in 1990; and was then appointed as an Assistant Director at the Educational Planning and Research Division of the Ministry of Education Malaysia before joining the University as a Lecturer in 2000. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering from Temple University, Philadelphia in 1988, and obtained her Masters degree in 1998 and PhD in 2007, both in Library & information Science, from the University of Malaya. Her research interests focus on digital library for education, Open Access Initiatives, information behaviour, bibliometrics and scholarly communication, and recently embedded librarianship. She is at present the chief editor of the Malaysian Journal of Library & Information Science and a research fellow at the Malaysian Citation Centre Ministry of Education Malaysia. She sits in the review panel of the following ISI-indexed journals - Scientometrics, The Electronic Library, Journal of Academic Librarianship, Journal of Information Science and Librarianship, LIBRI and Information Development. She is currently the Deputy Dean of Insitute of Graduate Studies, University of Malaya.

Judy Ng is the current President of the Library Association of Singapore. She is the Director, Resource Management and Discovery at the National Library Board (NLB), Singapore. With over 30 years of library experience, her portfolio includes overseeing a team that looks at metadata management and standards, ontology, linked open data and knowledge organization systems. She also serves as the Secretary of the OCLC Asia Pacific Regional Council and a Governing Board Member of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative.

Puan Zanaria is currently the Head of Information Systems, University of Malaya Library. She has a Degree in Humanities from Deakin University and MLIS from University of Malaya. She has published several articles such as:

EN NURHAZMAN ABDUL AZIZ

BIODATA:
Nurhazman Abdul Aziz (or better known as Hazman Aziz) has always focuses on constructing the sustainable growth model (towards client services) when building online information services (or portal), such as library portal or digital libraries. 

Prior to joining IEEE, Hazman embarked on his academic librarianship’s journey at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and contributed on the efforts in building digital and physical learning spaces, including the revamp of the digital library between the year 2006 to 2012. During the tour, Hazman was elected into the council with Library of Association of Singapore leading the initiatives for IT Committee (2011 to 2013).  Later (from 2012 to 2014), he ventured into the commercial side of the industry with Swets Information Services, as a Solution Expert (APAC) looking after a suit of eProducts. Currently, with his interests and passions in digital growth and scholarly communication, he is also reading his PhD (Library & Information Science) at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Hazman also given the opportunity to learn and work at IEEE with the client services team to ensure digital growth and awareness for IEEE Xplore™ and other related digital products that subscribed by the communities located in South East Asia, Middle East, Australia & New Zealand.

Apart from that, Hazman is also active in the digital movement among the community in Singapore and Malaysia to promote digital advocacy in the scholarly communities.  Hazman is also a member of IEEE (Singapore Section), IEEE Young Professional, IEEE Education Society and IEEE Professional Communication. He also joins American Society Engineering Education, Special Libraries Association and an active technical contributor to Doctorate Support Group (in Malaysia), where he build the digital learning portal for scholarly communities.

BIODATA:
Geeta, who is currently undergoing her PhD in Knowledge Management, has an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, UK. She was a former  executive director of Paradigm Systems Berhad and the founder of Knowledge Connections. 

Ms Geeta’s specialization, over the last 30 years, has been in product conceptualization, systems and database design for Information Management projects. In the last 8 years, she has turned her attention to Knowledge Management, and her passion towards KM has made her into focusing in cultivating communities of practices (CoPs) as a Knowledge Sharing and Learning Tool.

In 2012, in her foray of innovative products to advance the practice of KM, she had conceptualized KMaya (www.KMaya.com.my), an online social learning environment for the Information Management Industry.  With her accumulated knowledge in this arena, Geeta has been engaged by multiple agencies as a KM consultant in cultivating the communities of practice in their respective environments.

HAJJAH NAFISAH AHMAD

BIODATA:
Ms. Hajah Nafisah Ahmad is Director General, National Library of Malaysia effective 1 October 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree from the National University of Malaysia and Post Graduate Diploma in Library Science from the MARA University of Technology, Malaysia. She has worked at the National Library of Malaysia for 28 years in various departments such as Digital Library Services, Documentation (cataloguing/metadata), Collection Development and Malaysian National Bibliography. She has also been involved in numerous projects, such as the Ubiquitous Library (u-Pustaka) Project, National Digital Library Project and the National Data Dictionary for Public Sector.

She is currently a Council Member of Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia (PPM) and CONSAL XVI Executive Board Member. She has been actively involved in the development of libraries in Malaysia and  has presented papers in local and international conferences.

Mastura Muhamad is the Director of the Selangor Public Library Corporation, Malaysia. Leading the transformation of the Selangor Public Library with her rebranding strategy, the number of library users increased from 418,802 in 2008-2010 to 1,550,435 in 2011-2013. Mastura is also a former member of Selangor State Steering Committee of Development of Education and Human Capital.
